FIRST EDITION (1905), 8vo, 170 x 120 mm, 6¾ x 4½ inches, colour illustrated card covers, silk cord ties, (28) pages. 14 lovely bright colour plates illustrating a day in the life of the accident-prone little girl who owns the Dutch dolls in the well known series of little books by Ainslie. Each plate faces 'handwritten' simple text. Spine slightly rubbed, very small light crease to upper corner of upper cover, showing slightly on pages within, lower cover lightly browned next to spine and at top edge, silk ties faded, contents very clean and bright, not foxed. A very good plus copy. Ainslie is known to have produced about 25 titles for Castell, the earliest, Catharine Susan and Me circa 1903.
