Darkening to jacket's spine with chipping to the head and a small tear to the centre. Loss to the tail of the spine. Price clipped. Internally clean. With sixteen full-page colour illustrations by Rowland Wheelwright. Part of the Novels Beautiful Series. The reverse of the dustjacket of this copy is printed for The Talisman by Walter Scott - obviously the publisher hedging their bets, or using up old paper stock. . Very Good. Publisher's Cloth. Synopsis
The Old Curiosity Shop, what would become Charles Dickens’ fourth novel, was first published in 88 weekly installments in Dickens’ serial, Master Humphrey’s Clock, from April 1840 to February 1841. In a tale that survives the transcendence of time, The Old Curiosity Shop tells the story of thirteen-year-old Nell Trent and her grandfather who live in The Old Curiosity Shop, a small antique and gift store. The unnamed grandfather, desperate to leave Nell in good financial standing after his death, loses The Old Curiosity Shop to a gambling problem, forcing him and young Nell to wander the countryside.

Please select our Priority service if you'd like UPS / Fedex express servies, but even our Standard option is with UPS until Royal Mail sort themselves out.
Prices are in sterling, and are subject to availability. We can accept bank transfers in Sterling, Euros, US and AUS dollars. We ship priority shipping as standard, and pack our books well. Courier services available. We are also able to offer same day delivery within London postcodes for some orders - ask for a quote. Valuable items will be sent via registered airmail or one of the courier services. Large orders can be sent via consolidation, which reduces the cost per book. In the unlikely event of an incorrect description, a full refund will be provided, but please e-mail/telephone first, and within seven days of receipt of the book. We are happy to comply to the EU's rules on distance selling. All books are published in London and 8vo unless stated, and remain my property until paid for in full.
