Utrecht, W. de Haan, (1920).. FIRST EDITION circa 1920, 280 x 230 mm, 11 x 9 inches, cream card covers lettered and decorated GILT, an extra round colour plate mounted on upper and lower cover, lacking silk ribbon to spine, (16) pages. Half-title and title page GILT lettered, pages on heavy cream paper, 8 pretty oval colour plates (150 mm, 5½" wide) mounted in a gilt frame above the verses, facing the music, all pages with decorative GILT border. The songs, in English, are not for children, but tell of unrequited love and unfaithful lovers. Covers slightly dusty and faintly foxed, 5 mm (¼") scrape to edge of plate on upper cover, small pale water stain to lower corner of upper cover, 60 x 15 mm deep, (2" x ¾") maximum, 4 minute pink stains, corners very slightly scuffed, tiny crease at top edge of upper cover, repeated at top of pages.
