Hardbacks in good+ condition,text is clean and unmarked, bindings tight, some yellowing of pages due to age. Vol. 2 has some stains on last few pages which are uncut. Tissue covered engraved portraits of Anne of Austria, Rubens, Prince de Conde, Fenelon, Madame de Maintenon, Moliere, Madame de Sevinge, La Bruyere and others. Great slice of French History .
