About This Item

Lake Oswego, Oregon: Blackwell North America, 1988. Hardcover. Very Good Plus. DePol, John. EX-LIBRARY. REPRINTED from the original Yellow Barn Press edition. Library pocket, stamps, barcode to front pastedown endpaper. Stamps to introduction page and rear pastedown endpaper. Call letter label to front boards. Wood engraving illustrations. Black lettering to white spine and front of orange, Art-Deco style boards. Bright and tight. Unpaginated (11 pp). Introduction by Donald W. Knoepfler. Mott was born into a Quaker family, the son of an owner and editor of small town weeklies. Although his youth was one spent among printing offices and newspapers, he went on to a career in higher education and spent twenty-one years with the faculty at The State University of Iowa. In this little volume, Mott "has frozen in time the smells and sounds and the lives of people that remain a part of the Midwest fabric," (introduction).
