Boston, MA: Gould and Lincoln, 1851. 288+pp. Original cloth covers stamped in blind w/ gilt title on spine. Binding soiled and faded w/ light wear to extremities. Spine sunned. "The Hadley Library" bookplate on front paste-down; previous owner's name on front endpaper, and top margin of title page. Edges of leaves a bit age toned. Illust. w/ numerous engravings, and a fold-out color diagram at front. Still a strong, sturdy copy.. First U.S. Edition. Hard Cover. Good/No Dust Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
