W.H. Allen, London, 1976. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Good. Illustrator: Photographic. foreword by Dame Sybil Thorndike, introduction by author, recommended reading and index. Maroon coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the spine. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and shelfwear to the lower book edges. Browning to the paper edges. Internal pages had become quite tanned. Photographic dustwrapper, showing a sepia coloured photograph of the Old Vic Theatre, against a white, brown, gold and green coloured background, with brown, white and black coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the spine. Small photograph on the rear dustwrapper, panel showing Sir Laurence Olivier and Dame Sybil Thorndike. Some rubbing and creasing to the dustwrapper edges and a little gelding of the white background.
