Philadelphia: Published by the Author [Mathew Carey], 1815. Full Leather. Good binding. 12mo. 486 pp., folding frontis. Seventh edition, enlarged. Contemporary leather binding with red morocco title label. Leather separated at the front joint, but the boards is holding well; chipping to the leather at the spine ends; despite these faults and the moderate shelfwear, this is a presentable copy; front free endpaper is roughly excised; a later previous owner name on the next blank and a contemporary owner name at the head of the first printed page; folding frontispiece is present and worn at the fore-edge margin, not affecting text; generally toned and foxed throughout. An interesting publication issued during the War of 1812 that sought to find unity in a divided political system. Sabin 10877.
