About This Item

Aaron Weinstock, 2007-01-01. Hardcover. Very Good. 9x6x1. Minor shelf wear, corners lightly bumped, binding tight, pages clean and unmarked. ONCE UPON A TZADIK Our Sages teach: The life of the Tzadik - the way he lives Torah - is the greatest teaching of all. There are valuable lessons which can only be learned by studying the way a great person acts. ONCE UPON A TZADIK is a collection of tales about Rebbe Nachman: his life, his chassidim and his relationship with the other Tzadikim of his times. It also includes some stories which the Rebbe himself told, stories with meaning and relevance to us all. REBBE NACHMAN of BRESLOV • great-grandson of the Baal Shem Tov, leader of a Chassidic following, great sage and master story-teller. Known to his chassidim simply as "the Rebbe", he lived only thirty-eight years and six months. His time on this earth was short, yet his accomplishments were many and long lasting. Rebbe Nachman's mission was to bring everyone closer to Hashem. Throughout the different periods of his life and wherever he went, the Breslover Rebbe strove to help people become better Jews and purify their souls. Young and old, learned and simple, they came from far and wide to see Rebbe Nachman and request his blessing and advice. He once said, "I have three kinds of chassidim: those who come to grab shirayim (leftovers), those who come to hear my Torah lessons; and those who are inscribed in my heart - because I am inscribed in theirs!" And what did Rebbe Nachman teach Hashem's beloved nation: - Never despair or give up! - Life is like walking on a very narrow bridge. The main thing is not to be afraid! - It is a great mitzvah to always be happy!
