Boston: Little Brown and Company, 1947. 241 pp. An Atlantic Monthly Press book, the author "has fashioned a warm and skillful story of a day in what was, before the war, the 'perfect village in aspic.'" Stated first edition. Grey cloth covers with green imprint of bucolic village on front, green title lettering on spine. Top and bottom cover edges have some sunfading, spine slightly cocked, spine ends are bent. Dust jacket is protecte in plastic, but has wear to edges, spine ends are bent from use, inside jacket front corner has been price-clipped. DJ in VG-/VG condition. Ink writing from previous owner(s) on front free endpaper, back free endpaper top corner has been cut. Interior page edges are untrimmed and show some browning, otherwise interior is clean. Book in VG-/VG condition.. First Edition. Cloth. Very Good-/Very Good-. Size: Approx. 5 1/4" x 7 1/2". Historical Fiction.
