A. Hegg in text and plates, index; Minor stain spots on top edge of covers and top of text block; Dust jacket has shelf wear to edges and covers, coffee colored stain spots on front, 1" by 1/2" triangle chip on bottom front with loss of letters in author name, minor chips and wear to edges and spine top and bottom, fading of spine. Eric A. Hegg (1867-1947) was a Swedish-American photographer that was famous for photographs of people and events during the Klondike Gold Rush 1897-1901. From the dust jacket, Hegg was a self-trained photographer that man hauled and sled loads of photographic equipment across the mountains during winter. He traveled to all of the areas and towns to capture the events.
