Boldly signed on half title page. With the 2,131st game Cal Ripken, Jr. played he broke the record for number of games consecutively played by a Major League ballplayer. The record was previously held by Lou Gehrig. When done, the All-Star shortstop for the Baltimore Orioles set the new mark for consecutively played games at 2,632.
