Boldly signed on half title page. With the 2,131st game Cal Ripken, Jr. played he broke the record for number of games consecutively played by a Major League ballplayer. The record was previously held by Lou Gehrig. When done, the All-Star shortstop for the Baltimore Orioles set the new mark for consecutively played games at 2,632. Truly, Ripton earned the name and is Baseball's "Iron Man". 6.5x9.5 in. With photos and acknowledgements, 326 pg.
