A classic of early American vineyard work and winemaking. Includes a section on the "manufacture of wine", as well as an appendix titled, "Examples of American Vineyard Practice, and a much longer appendix titled "The Thomery System of Grape Culture". Small dampstain to lower fore corner of text block, otherwise very good in publisher's gilt-titled, textured green cloth. Ink ownership signature to the free front endpaper. [Gabler (2nd edition) 33950; Amerine & Borg 2614].
