Text includes a commentary which explains dates assigned to the letters, and detailed index and biographical notes. Text is in original Latin. Includes several plates of reproductions of Erasmus' original handwritten letters. 618 pgs. Endpapers have a minor vertical browning streak near the seam, probably from a paper bookmark insert. Pgs.3-6 has a very light two inch discoloration streak on the upper edge- does not affect the text. Dustjacket has a few minor tiny closed edge tears on the top edge; in mylar. Prior owner's nameplate pastedown on front endpaper. Minimal shelfwear. Overall very good condition for its age. Scarce.. First Edition. Original Cloth. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
