NY: Scribner's, 1900. First Edition. Small 4to, pp. 278, plus two pages of maps. Illustrated with 24 colorplate and artotypes as well as 8 photo engravings. Marbled paper over heavy boards, leather spine. Ex library, pocket and bookplate removed. Cover somewhat scuffed, one hinge tender, o/w a VG tight copy. A history of rug-making, the people who made them, the processes by which they were produced, the differences between the rugs made in various areas. Includes index, and charts describing the various kinds of rugs.
