Number 4765 in black printed on spine, corners worn through leather, text block tight and clear, yellowing on pages from age. Harvard University Baker Library Sticker on inside of front board.

.... Statement of the Case.

The claim in the above-entitled case, for trent and cost of extraordinary repairs of the county court-house in the city of Nashville, Tenn., was embraced in Senate bill 4627 of the Fifty-sixth Congress........commonly know as The Tucker Act........

............ Findings of Fact.

I. The court finds that the county of Davidson, Tenn., was not loyal to the United States throughout the war of the rebellion, by weas of and under the decision set forth in the case of The Board of Education of West Virginia v. The United States (30 C.Cls. R., 160).

II the court further finds that the court-house of the said county of Davidson, situated in the city of Nashville, with the exception of three rooms was occupied by the troops of the United States for a period of three years and injured by reason of such use and occupation. .....


The Fifty-eighth United States Congress was a meeting of the legislative branch of the United States federal government, composed of the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives. It met in Washington, DC from March 4, 1903 to March 4, 1905, during the third and fourth years of Theodore Roosevelt's presidency. The apportionment of seats in the House of Representatives was based on the Twelfth Census of the United States in 1900. Both chambers had a Republican majority. Major Legislations were Kinkaid Act Transfer Act of 1905.
