Contains 10 lithographed portraits on rectos only, most with a leaf of text. The original maquette for Rothenstein's Manchester Portraits. Of the 12 portraits issued in the final publication, 8 of them are present here, as well as the text for 10 of them. Two other portraits (of unknown sitters) that were not used in the final printing are also inserted. With handwritten notes for the future contents of the prelims and corrections to the text.
