The Artist, 1964. Original Woodcut on Rice Paper, pencil signed bottom right, '64. 4th proof, titled "Nuns". 17" w x 24 1/2" h, image size 11 1/2" w x 18" h. Near Fine, 1" horizontal folds top, left, and bottom margins, 1 1/2" chip left edge, horizontal crease at center with tiny hole at that crease and right margin. Betty Hahn is best known for her photographic artworks, which have incorporated a range of artistic techniques unconventional to that medium. Her works are in many museum, university, and private collections worldwide, including The Chicago Art Institute, The Museum of Modern Art, J. Paul Getty Museum, and the Smithsonian Institution. This woodcut is an early work, dating from her MFA years at Indiana University in the mid-1960's, and her works from this era are SCARCE. . SIGNED BY ARTIST. Print. Near Fine. 17" x 24 1/2".
