Taos: Taos Heritage Publishing, (1985). First edition. Oblong quarto. ix, [1], 140 pp. Numerous illustrations with may of them being full page color. Publisher's terra-cotta cloth with copper spine and cover lettering, pictorial dust jacket. A fine copy.Berninghaus first visited Taos in 1899. He settled there in 1925, became one of the six founders of the 'Taos Society of Artists' and eventually died there in 1952. He was a major American painter and won numerous awards. He is best known for his portrayals of Native Americans. Catalog of his known paintings at the rear.
