From the author's Preface: "My thoughts turn with special tenderness toward surviving acquaintances, and others of advanced age. The hope of contributing healthful thoughts and facts for the comfort of such has inspired the present volume. Each year begins with a poem. There is an Index of Names at the back. Decorative binding with gilt accents on the spine and at the left edge of the front cover; gilt top page edges.
