Chicago: Thompson & Thomas. Near Fine with no dust jacket. 1901. First Edition. Hardcover. One of several books published shortly after the assassination of President William McKinley in 1901. In an era before electronic communication, books such as this provided a way for people to know more fully the events surrounding McKinley's death as well as his life and accomplishments. This is a very nice copy in original publisher's blue cloth decorated binding with elaborate gilt cover and spine decorations and a pictorial insert of McKinley on front. No significant faults (just a slightly rubbed area on rear cover). In all, a nice bright, clean, tight and unmarked book. ; B&W Photographs; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 466 pages .
