Longmans, Green and Co., 1874. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1874. No Edition Remarks. 342 pages. No dust jacket. Green pictorial boards with gilt lettering and decoration. Contains black and white illustrated plates. Pages are notably thumb-marked, with moderate tanning and foxing to endpapers and text block edges. Page 128 plate is almost detached. Moderate cracking to hinges and gutters with exposed netting. Pages 119-126 are fairly loose, creased and torn. Occasional thumb-marking present throughout. Former owner's inscription to paste-down and reverse of frontispiece, with a few small nicks along text block edge. Plates are lightly tanned, foxed and thumb-marked. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with notable bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Book has a mild forward lean. Light tanning to spine and edges, with visible crushing to spine ends. Liquid drops on front board.
