St. Paul, 1920, 1920. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good-. Gilt-stamped pictorial cloth. 432pp. "Illustrated from photographs by D.F Barry, the Noted Indian Photographer." Decorated endpapers. In back is a folding 9"x 12" map of the Dakotas, Wyoming, & most of Nebraska & Montana, with a long tear repaired with archival filmoplast tape. This book contains material on a lot of subjects & people: Fur Trade, George Catlin, Sioux Massacre of 1862, Yellowstone & Black Hills Expeditions, Battle of Little Big Horn, Capture of Rain-in-the-Face, Railroads, Teddy Roosevelt, Vigilantes, & more. Hinges professionally repaired. Gilt on the spine is fairly dull. A nearly very good copy of a very scarce item. Herd 2335, 6-guns 2242.
