London: Archibald Constable & Co., 1902. Reddish brown boards with gilt titles front and spine and black celtic knot design show light to moderate bumping and shelfwear except at head and heel of spine (particularly the head) where there is abrasion, and small tears. Top edge gilt. Front hinge is started but holding. Dye from boards transferred to lower spine edge of endpapers and last few leaves. Foldout map of Outer Hebrides has a small tear at point of lower attachment to textblock. Very light foxing at front endpaper and half-title. Recent owner's bookplate on front pastedown. Presentation plate on front free endpaper from School Board of Glasgow, Session 1909-1910, for General Excellence to one George Archibald. (Note coincidence with name of publisher). Interior tight and otherwise unmarked. 448 pp.. First. Cloth. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
