About This Item
1984 softcover as pictured. This is an edited and reprinted 1885 history of Cazenovia, New York and its environs. Cazenovia was one of the earliest settlements in central New York. The town was established on land that was taken from the Haudenosaunee Oneida Nation after the Revolutionary War despite their support of the American cause. The land was sold to Dutch speculators who constituted the Holland Land Company in payment of war debts. Binding is firm, spine uncreased. Covers are faded. Top edge of text block mottled. Signed by editor on title page. Text appears clean and unmarked. Includes a number of illustrations along with several appendices, index and two fold out maps at rear. Your purchase helps support our small village library. s AR
