Very nice copy of this scarce elegantly designed and printed magazine edited by J.H. Prynne, with work by him and by Charles Olson, Ed Dorn, Robert Creeley, and others. No markings, very minor wear.

Kampala, Uganda: Transition Ltd, 1968. 1st edition. Soft cover. Very Good/No Jacket (as issued). VG. 4to, 64pp, stapled wrappers. Rare 1968 issue of this seminal African magazine, then published in Uganda. The article in this issue by Picho Ali triggered letters in the next issue and a court case that resulted in the jailing of editor Rajat Neogy and the departure of the magazine from Uganda. Issue also includes a full-page caricature of Enoch Powell by Ralph Steadman, a cartoon referencing the assassinations of JFK, MLK and RFK, writing by Chinua Achebe and Peter Enahoro, other interesting content. Unmarked copy, some bumping and wear.

A rare issue (300 copies printed) of Carl Weissner's seminal sixties magazine from the center of the literary avant-garde. Includes cut-up and concrete work. Unmarked copy, a little spotting, faint must, includes laid-in drawing plate.

Nice copy of a rare early production of the Artists' Workshop Press, edited by Robin Eichele and featuring the work of a number of authors associated with the Press. Unmarked copy, a bit of reading wear to front cover and early leaves, minor edge spots.

In its original stapled colour illustrated soft covers.With contributions from thirteen artists, including: Charles Grey, Bunny Jones, Sara Smith, John Bichard, Joe Vel, Don Rout, Andy Bradford, Hugo von Bottenthal, Geoffrey Swann, Shimmey McCloskey, and Dreek Humphries. Two are signed by the artists; these being the page by Rachel Ramirez, and that of Damon Alexis Summersgill. Includes a variety of collage items such as glitter, hair clippings, and even a chip fork in a plastic bag! Fascinating and complete. 24 pages. 290 x 205 mm (11½ x 8 inches).

Collects stories and poems from 1941 appearances in "little" magazines which Swallows describes in his introduction as often short-lived and with low circulations but important for their embrace of new authors and experimental fiction. Contains a number of first book appearances by well-know authors such as the short story "Goodwood Comes Back" by Robert Penn Warren and poetry by John Berryman, Kenneth Fearing, Randall Jarrell, Weldon Kees, Stanley Kunitz, Josephine Miles, Muriel Rukeyser, Ann Stanford, et al. 8vo dark-blue pebbled cloth stamped in green.
