Oxford at the Clarendon Press, London, 1955. Third Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Very Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. VIII, 932 pages, preface by editor, preface to the second edition, preface to the third edition and four appendices. Blue coloured boards with gilt titles to the backstrip. Arranged alphabetically a companion to English literature. With figures, both fiction and non fiction, of note throughout the long history of English literature. this is the 4th impression of the 3rd edition. the spine section of the binding has lost a couple of shades of colour, and the edges of the pages are slightly darkened with age. There is no annotation that I can find. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
