About This Item

London: Sampson Low, Marston & Co Ltd. First Edition . Original Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. This book tells the story of transport throughout the ages, from the Ark to the Aquitania, presented as a Pageant from the standpoint of the impresario. Transport is so intimately connected with the various aspects of modern life, and has become such a commonplace thing, that we seldom stop to consider what it is, how it arose, how it developed, or how it carried on. Very well illustrated with b/w photos. Period ads for publishers other books at rear. Not Dated but c1931 Publishers original blue/grey cloth with black letter titles to spine. SPine a little darkened, light shelf wear to extremities. Some mild foxing throughout - not affecting plates, end sheets are tanned, with book plate. Please feel free to inquire for item specifics or additional photos. Books will be carefully packaged in cardboard boxes only. Combined shipping can apply for multiple purchases - please check out our other listings. International shipping costs will be assessed on a case by case basis.
