Includes 74 catalogued color and b&w plates accompanied by an introductory essay, chronology, and list of all known oil paintings by the Philadelphia artist. Praised in his time by contemporaries such as Eakins, Rothermel's historic oil paintings fell in estimation in the 20th century. Book Condition : Good+; no text marks; small crease to rear free end paper; light wear to cover corners and spine; a few small stains to bottom text block. c.
