About This Item
New York: Alfred A. Knopf. Very Good. 1935. First Edition. Hardcover. (no dust jacket) [moderate shelfwear and light soiling to bottom edges, a bit of smudging to cloth covers, spine cloth slightly darkened]. Novel about a charming half-French, half-English roue, described as a "boudoir slipper" (meaning one who slips in and out of boudoirs), who seduces his way all around Paris and the Riviera. The New York Times reviewer thought it "the kind of book to read in a deck chair and to cast over the left shoulder when finished." .
