Bottom of spine shows just a touch of red color bleeding from the cloth to the bottom edge of the page block. The jacket has minor edgewear and slight rubs on rear panel. This copy was signed by the members of the New Mamas & Papas during their tour of 1986 - 1987. Full page inscription by Papa John on front endpaper, plus signatures of Denny Doherty, Spanky McFarlane, Laurie Beebe, formerly of the Buckinghams (who replaced McKenzie Phillips on the tour due to pregnancy), Scott McKenzie (twice), and four other signatures where I can't make out the names (presumably band members). "El Paso, Texas/March 26, 1987" is written at the top right of the front endpaper. At the end of the book, Phillips mentions starting this tour with Spanky (from Spanky & Our Gang, the 60's power pop group) singing Cass Eliot's parts, and Laura (his daughter who we call McKenzie) singing Michelle's parts, and Denny and himself. At some point after this book was signed, Denny also left the tour and Scott McKenzie (who had a big hit with the John Phillips-penned song about San Francisco and flowers in your hair) stepped into his spot. An iconic memento of 1960's (and later) pop/rock music. Includes photos and an index; 444 pages.
