Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. 1st edition, 1st printing (true first). 220pp. Purple cloth-covered boards with gilt titles (sharp, bright, strong). Patchily tanned on endpapers, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket by Clark Hutton (showing gentle edge wear only). A satire on bureaucracy and the civil service. Jacket fitted with archival-quality mylar wrapper to protect & prolong its life. It is not adhered to the book or to the jacket. A very nice copy, collector's and/or gift quality.
