First edition, first printing. 220pp. In purple cloth boards with gilt titles on spine. 12mo. Boards very slightly rubbed and rounded at corners and spine tips. Text block edges slightly foxed. Previous owner's inscription and bookplate on front free endpaper else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket, with a lightly sunned spine and a little discolouration on verso. Dust jacket now protected in a Brodart-style sleeve, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. A novel satirical upon bureaucracy, administration and the workings within the civil service.
