About This Item

Leicester, UK: Twelve by Eight, 1963. Book. Very good+ condition. Hardcover. Second edition. Octavo (8vo). 96 pages of text including a glossary and an index. A thick and stiff paper was used to make the binding, but it is so rigid that it is a hardcover. Minor browning to the edges, and minimal shelfwear; protected in acetate. With a Foreword by Dr. Dard Hunder. Contains numerous in-text illustrations by Rigby Graham. The frontispiece is of an actual plant specimen set into a grey handmade paper. Other illustrations include one page containing three handmade paper samples (blue/orange/green), a woodcut printed in red of an egg-shaped figure on a handmade piece of pink paper, a photogravure of a man pulping paper, a pink-based multi-colored handmade paper sample affixed to a sheet of green handmade paper, and a black woodcut by Rigby Graham on mauve handmade paper. The text is clean and unmarked. Second edition..
