Donaldson. 3 more Full-Page Plates by Phinn to front Book IV, Book VIII and Book IX. LXXIX (79) preliminary pages commencing with the Editor's Preface ( Lackington ). Then the Life of Milton, Verses to Christina, Queen of Sweden (from Toland and Birch), "In Paradisum Ammisam" (Samuel Barrow) and "n Paradise Lost" by Andrew Marvel. Main Text 323 Pages followed by unpaginated Index of 19 pages. In Period Sheep Leather binding with Gilt Horizontal Divisions and Urn Motif on spine. Gilt title on Red Leather Label on 2nd compartment. Some wear to leather and a small piece chipped from top corner of title label (see photos ). Hinges sound and text block firm. Gift inscription on ffep dated 1790. No other inscriptions. Pages and Plates in very good, clean condition.
