Single volume from a set of Thackeray's work, small format (6.25" tall) in full blue-green leather over flexible covers, gilt spine lettering and decoration, top edge gilt, frontis plate in black and white. Generally good but a little worn with some rubbing and scuffing to the extremities, slightly faded spine, firm binding, some light finger soil to outer edges of text block, clean pages with no names or other markings, a tiny bit of waviness to the top margins of the pages.. Soft Cover. Fair. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.

Chicago: Hooper, Clarke, & Co., 1890. One volume only (though containing three works, paginated separately) of a Thackeray set published by an obscure Chicago firm, undated, but circa 1890. Publisher's "Imperial Edition", full burgundy cloth, as pictured. General wear, spine with minor smudges & rubbing, small stain to front cover, pages tanned but still tolerably supple. Text clean; [8], 443, blank, 361 pages; b/w frontispiece.. Reprint. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. Duodecimo.

Cloth, VG. xv+706pp, engraved frontis, occasional b/w vignette, corners a little bumped & rubbed with a small split to the cloth at the upper hinge, last few pp foxed, Armorial bookplate ( Campbell ), Volume XII of the publishers 'Works of William Makepeace Thackeray', but without an ordinal to the spine. Thackeray's three works of travel writing, the 'Irish Sketch Book' marked by its hostility towards Irish Catholics.

Attractively bound in warm brown cloth with lettering and attractive spine decoration in gilt, floral embossed pattern on covers, about 7.5 inches tall. Very good condition with light rubbing to the corners and spine ends, good hinges, firm text block, lightly age-toned but very clean pages, no names or other markings. Tiny hole in preliminary blank that looks like a flaw in the papermaking.. Hard Cover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
