London: Swan Sonnenschein, Lowrey and Co, 1887. First Edition. Hardcover (Half Leather). Near Fine Condition. Rebound in modern half black leather over marbled boards . Rubbing to spine lettering, otherwise just about fine. 254 pages with 2 pages of ads at the rear.
First published in the French magazine Le Figaro the previous year, Moor's depiction of Ireland in the 1880s was noteworthy for managing to offend nearly everyone. As tempers cooled, it was admired for its lyrical description - quite uncommon.
