Paris: L'Edition d'Art, H. Piazza, 1924. Cinquieme edition. 12mo (19 cm). ix, (1), 201, (2) pp. Plate, historiated initials and headpieces. Inscribed by the author to the English translator of this book (issued as The Passion of Yang Kwe-Fei by Covici, Friede, 1928) Henry Bedford-Jones in 1926. Soulie de Morant (1878-1955), French scholar and diplomat, introduced acupuncture to the west and translated Chinese and Japanese literature; Bedford-Jones (1887-1949), an American novelist and contributor to pulps, produced almost all of his large output during the period, 1914-1928. Contemporary three-quarter red morocco, gilt, marbled boards, gilt spine title, marbled endpapers, original brown decorated wrappers bound in. Very good.
