First Edition with no subsequent printings listed (first printing); A very good book in a good dust jacket. SIGNED and inscribed by the author on the first free paper. A nice, collectible copy of this scarce novel, even more rare signed with a warm inscription. This copy is in very good condition showing moderate foxing to the pages, some mild crimping to the spine ends, and some light fading to the spine lettering. Housed in a good dust jacket that is clean and bright but does show some extensive rubbing, chipping, and creasing to the ends, edges, and corners, albeit with only minimal loss of material. Not price clipped ($2.50 present to both flaps) and not ex-library. Overall, a handsome copy, with some issues to the jacket, but enhanced by Ms. Buck's inscription; protected in a fresh mylar cover and shipped in a sturdy box.
