Head and base of spine moderately chipped and creased; corners bumped and rubbed. Frontispiece, 6 B/W plates, all by author. Raised library stamp to ffep. Previous owner's name, notations to reverse of ffep. Some pencil marginalia not affecting text. Mild foxing throughout. very good A history of how the idea of the Christian devil came to be. 1883
