About This Item
Chicago: Peirce Skating Club, 1947. Book. Very Good. Stapled Wraps. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Stapled booklet, 48 pages with photos of skaters and administrative personnel. Ads on just about every page for Chicago area businesses. Upper-corner crease throughout the program and some soiling on the rear cover, otherwise a nice copy of this rare publication (we find none through OCLC nor in the trade). The Peirce Skating Club formed in 1939 to help meet the recreational needs of Chicago's Peirce School children. They soon began competing in local meets and in 1948 the Club organized officially as The Peirce Skating Club and elected officers. This Program of Events covers some of that first year of organization..
