In this book on pencil drawing Calle covers the history of the development of the pencil and its use by past masters, the varieties of pencils, surfaces of papers, fixatives and erasers and teaches the basics of textures, shadows, edges and composition. Brown cloth with gilt titling to front and spine, orange endpapers, artist/author's signature to half title page, richly illustrated throughout with pencil drawings, 160 pages. Very light edge wear. Dust jacket shows shelf wear, a brown stain to top of spine and three lighter ones to bottom of spine, a 1 and 3/4 inch closed tear to top. It is now protected in a Brodart cover. This is a gorgeous book by a master of his art. Shipping charges are calculated for a standard parcel under 1 kg.
