About This Item

New York: Random House, 2007. First Edition, First Printing. Paper and Boards. Near Fine/Near Fine. A lovely First Edition, First Printing signed by the author on the title page. In Near Fine condition, the book is bound in cream and wine paper and boards with the lightest touches of discoloration and minor bumping to bottom edges, extremely minor. Tightly bound, sharp cornered with crisp, clean interior. The intact dust jacket is in Near Fine condition with just a whisper of frosting to extremities. Dust jacket protected in an archival cover. A very nice copy from the highly acclaimed writer of "Shanghai Girls". Read about our experience meeting Lisa See in our newsletter archive!

Synopsis

Peony in Love is the fifth of Lisa See's novels. Her previous novel, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, and Peony in Love emphasize the difficulty 19th and 17th century Chinese women had in achieving freedom and identity in a society that was both male dominated and rigid in its gender expectations.
