Very good. <p>First edition.<p>For three seasons, the author joined Alaskan Eskimos hunting the great Arctic whale and was caught up in the bitter controversy between the whalers and the scientists and environmentalists who decided the bowhead whale was theatened with extinction, resulting in the imposition of strict limits on the hunt by the U.S. government.
