New York: Aperture Foundation, 1988. First edition. First Printing. Hardcover. Fine/fine. Unpaginated (48pp.) 11 1/2" x 9 3/4" oblong. Paper and cloth over boards, stamped spine. Jacket has a photographic illustration on the front and the verso. No edition or printing stated, assume firsts without a number. Adams states on the front jacket flap that "This is a photographt essay about hiking the prairie--about the landscape, and about sharing an affection for it." His wife Kerstin Adams appears in several of the photos. There are 31 black and white photos. Pawnee National Grasslands is where the photos were taken. Book is price clipped but otherwise it is unmarked, tight, straight, bright, and has a jacket protector. Slight sun fade to spine.
