The text is illustrated with copious black-and-white illustrations, line drawings and photographs. Throughout the book there is a blue coloured page, and, on those blue pages coloured reproductions of artwork. Blue coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Colour illustrated dustwrapper with gold, white and black coloured titles to the front panel and white coloured titles to the back strip. A book about immigration to Australia in the 19th century from the immigrants point of view.
