About This Item

Like many writings by the leaders of the Russian Revolution, these two texts by Leon Trosky are intended to compare the outcomes of history with the predictions that Karl Marx set forth in the early 19th century. Also under his lens are the way in which different national histories would bring different historical outcomes to revolution. Despite the title, Results and Prospects was written first, in 1919, adn the Permanent Revolution not until 1930, after Trotsky had died at the hands of an assassin. Trotsky was Stalin's political opponent, and Stalin won the political struggle between them. If you need a bibliography of Trotsky's extensive writings, there is one at the end of this volume.
