About This Item
New York: self, 1968. First Edition. Card. Very good. Beatrice Warde, calligrapher, typographer and created this personalized memento card with a photograph of Stanley Morison, British typographer, printing executive and historian of printing, taken in May 1963. Apparently difficult to capture Morison smiling, she states that she made him hold her cat Smoky, and thoughfully sent the resulting shot out to friends the Christmas following his death. A glossy, casual photograph of Warde is laid in. She wears a red hat, and sits near a cherry red purse.
