Limited edition, one of 200 on batchelor hand-made paper. Wood engravings by David Jones, et al. Jones served in World War I. After the war he embraced Roman Catholicism and joined a small community of Catholic artists headed by craftsman Eric Gill, among whom he began to develop a unique concept of art and the function of the artist. Bright, very fresh copy. RANSOM 53. Backstrip slightly toned.
