London: Hodder and Stoughton Limited,, 1928. First edition, first impression, of the play text. The production opened on 27 December 1904 to huge success, breaking all previous theatrical records. Barrie followed up with Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens (1906), the text of which was based not on the play but rather on revised extractions from his story collection The Little White Bird (1902). Issued as part of "The Uniform Edition of the Plays of J. M. Barrie", it includes a 29-page dedication "To the Five", in which Barrie relates how he created Peter Pan. Octavo. Original blue cloth, paper label on spine and front cover printed in blue. With dust jacket. Title page printed in red and black within double ruled frame. Jacket spine lightly toned, a couple of nicks and small chips, two tape reinforcements on verso, unclipped: a fine copy in near-fine jacket.
